Shimla comes in northern part of India. It’s scenic due to hills embracing variety of trees and view of Himalayan Mountains. I recommend you to visit Chandigarh first. It has Rock garden, Museums and Rose garden which is worth seeing. Travel from Chandigarh to Shimla by car will take 2 hours 30 mins approx. But if you want to see most of the trail of Shimla then go by Kalka-Shimla toy train.

Once you head towards Himachal Pradesh, trail of Deodar trees perceive that you are entering in Himachal. Government of Himachal Pradesh strictly prohibits to cut down the trees to protect nature and stop land sliding.

While choosing Hotel , always give preference to what view you will be getting out of the window. It matters a lot if you are not very keen in visiting many places.

On first day, I along with my husband traveled to Hatu Peak,Narkanda. It takes 2 hrs 30 mins to reach by jeep. Road to reach Hatu Peak is very hard, many times snow is drizzled over it. Commuting by car is not at all feasible. Jeep dropped us base of the peak. We hiked for one hour and reached the top. It feels worth trekking after seeing snowy mountains all around. One could clearly see Shivalik range from there. It was the best spot I visited in my tour. There was hardly anyone other than two or three people. There is a temple of goddess.

After whole day long tour, we took rest at hotel. My wanderlust didn’t let me stay at hotel and we went on very famous Mall Road, Shimla. I went crazy on seeing so many shops and food stalls on Mall Road. You will find everything there for shopping. All branded shops to local shops in one row make you feel lively. The structures of Government Buildings, Churches and Houses are still same as it used to be in British time. Christ Church is such a divinely and at night looks beautiful from outside. I enjoyed seating on bench by the pavement and experience the cool weather.

Next day morning , we visited Hanuman Mandir and headed to Manali with sweet memories of Shimla. I think two to three days stay in beautiful city is needed to get real feel of Himachali atmosphere and people.
